Kia ora New Zealand!

Well hello there! I am speaking to you from the other side of the planet!

My last day few days in England were lovely, although I did pick up one final office cold before I finished working…the last week felt quite surreal, saying goodbye to friends, family and London, and on the day of my flight, I was the picture of calm – mostly!

The airport was a breeze (despite having a little cry!)  and although the flights were uncomfortable, I just powered through and watched loads of films.

Anywho, I arrived at 11.15am on Wednesday and the sun was shining! I’m staying with Pete and Sonia who live in a stunning house in Auckland and I’ll be here until just after Christmas, working freelance for my old company and getting settled into this beautiful country.

So far, I’ve applied for the ballot for the Lions vs All Blacks tour next year, watched The Bill on my new favourite channel – UKTV, joined the AA, bought some pineapple lumps and tim tams and slept…I don’t think it has really sunk in yet that I live here but I’m sure it will soon, in the meantime I’ve started planning my adventures.

Do you have any North Island recommendations for me?

  1. Rotorua! It’s where the culture is most alive, there’s lots of activities to do here and they don’t cost an arm and a leg. Actually most things you can do for FREE! Hope you enjoy your new journey xx

    • I loved Rotorua when I last came to NZ, we did white water rafting! Unfortunately we didn’t have time to properly explore so will make sure I do that this time 🙂
